Background
Finland’s first boutique hotel under the Radisson RED concept opened in Helsinki. Radisson wanted to make a grand entrance to its concept and host a fabulous guest event to celebrate the milestone. We were invited to design and implement an event that aimed to emphasise a modern and bold brand, without forgetting the visitor experience, where atmosphere and quality would be at the heart of everything.
The design process
The RED brand played an important role in the planning of the event from the very beginning. All visual and technical solutions were strictly in line with the brand guidelines. In particular, the hotel’s bold, bold red colour scheme was evident in every detail, creating a cohesive and strong visual impact for the entire event.
Implementation
The event was designed to emphasise the experience and the atmosphere. We met this challenge by using carefully selected lighting and sound solutions: the DJ was in charge of the music for the event, supported by a state-of-the-art sound system & DJ equipment. A great sound experience for the whole evening was guaranteed.
Key solutions:
- Decorative and effect lighting: we were able to create a mood with effect lighting that highlighted the hotel’s red brand colour scheme. The courtyard lights were designed to match the theme of the event, and created an impressive first impression for guests from the moment they entered the entrance area.
- LED video wall: we built a large LED video wall on top of the stage elements, which served as a spectacular – visual and informative – supporting element for the opening programme: the video wall was used to display the hotel’s brand materials and presentations.
- Creating the atmosphere: the atmosphere was at the heart of the event, and every detail we designed supported this goal. The DJ’s music, lighting and visual elements combined to create an elegant but energetic environment. We were able to reflect Radisson RED’s high quality and bold brand.
Result
The invitation-only event was a success: guests were impressed by the bold and modern look of the hotel, and the atmosphere remained energetic throughout the evening. Every aspect of the event from sound, lighting, decor and video wall supported the Radisson RED brand and made the event an unforgettable experience.
What did we learn?
This project showed once again how important it is to involve the client’s brand from the very beginning of the design process. The success of the event was based on the fact that all the elements – colour, lighting and sound – supported the hotel’s bold and elegant branding, creating the right atmosphere. The right technology choices make for an excellent customer experience, and the visitor may not even realise that it’s a special occasion: the choices could be thought of as an integral part of the space. For example, the LED video screen proved to be a particularly effective way to communicate and impress participants. The more immersive the visitor, the better. We have succeeded when the visitor feels they have had an experience.
